The Angel Gabriel Visits Mary
In the small town of Nazareth, nestled in the hills of Galilee, lived a young woman named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a kind carpenter named Joseph, and she spent her days helping her family and praying to God.
One ordinary day, as Mary was alone in her home, something extraordinary happened. A brilliant light filled the room, brighter than any lamp or candle. Mary looked up in amazement and saw a magnificent angel standing before her!
The angel's name was Gabriel, and he was one of God's most important messengers. His wings shimmered with heavenly light, and his voice was gentle yet powerful. Mary felt both afraid and amazed at the same time.
"Greetings, favored one!" Gabriel said with a warm smile. "The Lord is with you and has blessed you greatly." Mary was confused and a little frightened. Why would an angel visit her, just an ordinary young woman from a small town?
Gabriel could see Mary's fear and quickly reassured her. "Do not be afraid, Mary," he said kindly. "God is very pleased with you. He has chosen you for something very special."
Then Gabriel shared the most amazing news anyone had ever heard. "You will have a baby son, and you will name Him Jesus," the angel announced. "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. His kingdom will never end!"
Mary's mind raced with questions. She wasn't even married yet—how could this be possible? She asked the angel respectfully, "How can this happen? I am not yet married to Joseph."
With courage and humility, Mary bowed her head and gave her answer. "I am the Lord's servant," she said softly but firmly. "Let everything happen just as you have said." In that moment, Mary said yes to God's amazing plan.
As soon as Mary spoke these words of faith, the angel Gabriel departed. The bright light faded, and Mary was alone again in her simple home. But everything had changed—she would become the mother of the Savior of the world!
